Pixi Skintreats – Skin Care Tested

I recently purchased a couple of items from the Pixi Skintreats line from Shoppers Drug Mart. I have heard a lot of things about the Glow Tonic from some of my favourite beauty YouTubers and decided to also try the milky skin mist and the peel & polish. I have been using them all for a few weeks and have finally formed some thoughts about each product!

Hydrating Milky Mist

Cost: $20 from Shoppers Drug Mart (Product information here)

I really like this product! I use it in the morning before or after applying my makeup when my skin is feeling extra dry. I love the smell and the light refreshing feel on my skin. It has a very light fragrance and soaks into the skin for a quick boost of hydration on dry skin. However, I hate the spray nozzle. It is almost too misty and I have to hold it incredibly close to my face in order to get anything to reach my skin (like 10-15 cm close).

And after spritzing my entire face I find that the product nozzle drips on my hand and wastes some product. I am not sure if I just got a dud nozzle, but I like the product enough that I will likely repurchase it anyways.

Peel & Polish

Cost: $30 from Shoppers Drug Mart (Product info here)

I also like this product from Pixi. It is a nice exfoliator, however I find it a bit harsh for my sensitive skin. I can only use it about once a week. It has a fairly coarse gritty texture compared to the other exfoliator I use which could be why it is too rough on my skin. But, I do still like it. It has a fairly strong scent that I find a bit off putting for some reason. It reminds me of a fruity smell I apparently don’t like that much. That being said it’s not on your face for long and it is bearable. I can’t say I notice if my skin is much brighter after use, but I also can’t use it as regularly as suggested because of my sensitivity. I will use up the rest of the product but likely won’t repurchase as it was pricey and I didn’t love it.

Glow Tonic

Cost $20 for the smaller size I purchased, $30 for the larger bottle from Shoppers Drug Mart (Product info here)

I had heard many good things about this product from a couple of beauty Youtuber’s that I watch as I mentioned above. Toners are not something that I use in my regular skin care regimen, but I wanted to give this a try to see what all the rave was about. I do like this product as well. I use it in the evening when I remember after washing my face to help clear any makeup off that I missed. I don’t think I have noticed brighter skin necessarily, and definitely not smaller pores, but I do find it soothing on my skin and it is a nice step before moisturizing in the PM. I don’t find that it agitates or dries out my sensitive skin. I do like this product, but I am not sure I notice a difference when I use it versus when I don’t, so I am not sure I will purchase it again.

Overall, I liked all 3 of the products I tested from this skin care line. I probably only repurchase the milky mist, but I will use up the products that I purchased. They are a little on the pricey side compared to other drug store products but still fairly reasonable compared to Sephora price tags. I have also found that all 3 products are lasting me a long time. I have been using all of them for about 2 months now and haven’t used a third of each individual product. I am looking forward to trying other products from this company as well!
