Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit

Cost: $52 at Sephora

I am a bit of a beginner to highlighter. The first highlighter I ever used was a cream one I was gifted – Watts Up from Benefit. I think I still own the exact same one from 4 or 5 years ago. I never really used it as I wasn’t sure how at the time and I thought it was a bit much on my already blindingly white face. I still feel like blinding highlight is a bit out of my comfort zone, especially for day time looks. However, I really wanted to try these highlighters out. Even though some of the shades are clearly too dark for me to highlight with I thought they would make gorgeous eye shadows.

This is a collaboration that ABH did with the YouTube Beauty Guru Nicole Guerriero. I have seen lots of her videos and she is really fun to watch and listen to and I was eager to buy this when it came out since I didn’t own any of the ABH glow kits. I received it quickly in perfect condition from Sephora (a lot were delivered with broken pans).

The shades all feel very creamy when I swatched them with my finger. I was nervous when I first swatched them because (as you can see in the images) they show up very strongly on the fingers (see below for finger and brush swatches of all the shades). However when I apply it to my cheeks with a brush it gives a subtle shimmery look that you can build if you prefer a stronger highlight. With a wet brush or multiple layers, you can really make the highlighted areas pop. Or you can use some of the lighter shades for a more subtle highlight as well in daytime looks. I personally like to wear the Forever Young shade very lightly on my cheeks when I am going to work. I have also worn that layered with Forever Lit on top when I am going out in the evening. It’s still a bit out of my comfort zone, but so pretty! It’s slowly growing on me. I also love Forever Lit on the inner corner of my eye, it’s really bold and works well in there.

Overall I like this product! It is limited edition, so I debated even doing a review on it as it is currently sold out at Sephora online. I have still seen some in stores! However, ABH has many other glow kits that are similar formulas. I don’t personally own them but I have swatched them in stores and they are really nice too. The only downside is that I find it a bit more sparkly than shimmery if that makes sense? If you’re looking for something really subtle this is probably not for you.
