Beauty Blender vs. Sephora Collection: Solid Brush Cleanser

Which is better? Sephora Collection or beautyblender? I have sample sizes that I received free from Sephora, and therefore only received the solid bars and not the silicone scrubbing tool or container that these both come with. I have used the images from Sephora since mine are both just plain bars of soap that wouldn't be very exciting to look at. If you are interested in what I think of the soaps and how they clean then keep reading!

My technique using these products is to wet my brush with warm water, wet the soap, gently rub the brush in a circle to coat it with soap, add more water if needed, then rub around on the palm of my hand to clean the makeup off it. I may have to repeat with the soap a few times if needed and then rinse all the soap out, gently press excess water out, and then leave it on a facecloth to dry horizontally on the counter.

Sephora Collection: Solid Clean: Solid Brush Cleanser

Cost: $10 CAD from Sephora

I received this one about 6 months ago and use it regularly. I like the mild smell of this soap, it's very standard like something you would receive at a hotel. It gets onto the brush nicely, suds up well, and cleans my brushes! It is easy to get the soap out of the brush after washing. I can't complain about this product. I use it about once a week and it looks like I've barely used it, I probably have a few months to a year left out of this bar. I think this product is great value for the cost.

beautyblender: blendercleanser solid

Cost: $22 CAD from Sephora

I received this one about 2 months ago and have used it a handful of times. The scent is also very mild, and according to the video on the Sephora website is supposed to be lavender. I don't find that it gets as soapy as the Sephora soap and I also don't find it cleans as well. For regular eyeshadow brushes it does the trick, but for my concealer and large powder brush that I use everyday I prefer the Sephora cleanser because it just gets more soap into the brush. Ironically I also prefer the Sephora cleanser for my beauty blenders as well! This bar also will last me a long time, however it is significantly more expensive.

Between the two products, I definitely prefer the Sephora Collection solid bar. Also, it's $12 cheaper for essentially the same product. When I use up my current bars I will repurchase the Sephora Collection one!
