Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer
Shade: light-medium
Cost: $47 CAD from Sephora
Thoughts:
I purchased this product from Sephora looking for a light coverage foundation to wear everyday. Even though the details claim that this is a full coverage foundation, I would say it’s medium at best. That being said, I apply this product with my fingers so it is very light. I squeeze out about a dime sized amount, rub it between my fingers, and smooth it all over focusing on the under eye area. After fingers, I take a large tarte powder brush (link at the bottom) and buff over my entire face to eliminate streaks. I have also applied with a beauty blender and the coverage is significantly improved. I purchased a shade too dark for my complexion so I almost always go over with some powder foundation so my face doesn’t look more tan than my neck!
I like the finish of this product on my skin, however it does leave my face feeling greasy all day, almost like the feeling of sunscreen. I wouldn’t recommend for oilier skin types. I also find that the product smells kind of like sunscreen, however when I was reading about the product there doesn’t seem to be SPF in it… curious! The cost of this product compared to other BB creams on Sephora’s website is comparably priced. I have used a Maybelline BB tinted moisturizer that is significantly cheaper and found it to be very similar coverage wise (link at the bottom).
While I am a fan of tarte, I am not sure yet that I will repurchase this product as I don’t really care for the greasy feeling it leaves on my face. However, from other BB cream products I have tried it might just be that is the norm. I think I would rather try a different one or go back to the Maybelline BB cream.
Have you guys tried any of the products mentioned? What did you think? Do you find BB leaves you greasy too?
